Take Care of Your Hair Extension to Last Longer
Just like your own hair, human hair extensions will accumulate residue through normal wear. GMJ Beauty recommends the following care instruction for our products to last longer and this should work for any hair extensions which are claimed to be human hair.
Please follow the below maintenance guidance:
- You do not need to wash the hair every day to keep consistent results.
- Before shampooing, gently remove any tangles. If hair is excessively tangled, a spray on conditioner should be used.
- Always use a mild shampoo or one specifically formulated for chemically treated hair.
- Run the hair under warm water and after placing a small amount of shampoo on your fingers, gently work the shampoo into the hair, stroking downwards.
- When clean, rinse thoroughly under warm running water until the water runs clear.
- Be sure to rinse until all shampoo is removed, as improper rising could result in damage.
- Just like your own hair, human hair extensions need to be conditioned after shampooing to maintain a healthy shine and promote styling ease.
- Place a small amount of conditioner in your hand. Gently work into the hair and let it sit for three to five minutes, and rinse thoroughly with warm water.
- Please do not force the comb through the wet hair or the hair extension will tear.
- Please ensure to completely wash away the conditioner/treatment of the scalp to the roots. You might leave a little conditioner or hair treatment at the end of your hair for end splits.
- If you like to put your hair up when it is still wet, we recommend using a hair clip rather than a hair tie or band.
- Please gently remove any excessive moisture by towel. Please use a towel and gentry grasp the hair from the middle to the tips, and rub the scalp gently using the fingers.
- To avoid damaging hair, we recommend applying a leave-in treatment or silicon coating product, especially on the hair tips.
- Please position a dryer above your head and blow dry from top to bottom. You might use a hand-comb from the root to tip while blow drying as needed.
- Please avoid using a brush before the hair is about 70% dry.
- Please do not blow dry from bottom up or it will cause the hair to tangle.
- It is important to ensure your hair extension are completely dry before using a curling iron or flat iron. We also recommend using a heat protection prior to using a curling iron or flat iron.
- Please note that frequent use of curling or flat iron will cause damage to both the hair extension and your own hair.
- We strongly recommend avoiding the teasing, back/comb, and/or cowlick as much as possible because it causes the hair to tangle and reduce the hair extension lifespan.
- Creating a loose braid with completely dried hair before going bed helps to avoid getting any tangles and damage to the hair. It will also help with styling in the morning if you prefer natural curls.
